Chapter 29 to chapter 32 - Coursework Example This implies that the ancient artwork of the African world is known to the contemporary world through monuments of the artwork. These monuments have been preserved throughout generations for the purpose of shedding light on the daily lives of the ancient Africans and for the general purpose of preserving important historical aspects. The art forms are also known through masquerades and museums where masks and other artworks are preserved and used in performances to convey important information concerning the community. The Rococo art style was first discovered in France in the 18th century. It was a continuation of a previous art style known as Baroque style. Rococo focused on the indulgence and lavishness existing in aristocracy. In contrast to other styles such as Baroque, Rococo was mostly characterized through opulence, lightness, playfulness and grace themes. It mostly focused on lighthearted form of romance instead of other aspects that included religion, and heroic battles that were common in artistry. In addition, the Rococo style revolved heavily around exterior settings and nature. This art style also reflected the societyââ¬â¢s tendencies and its name was derived from two different terms that included Rocaille and coquille that meant rock and shell respectively. The Bill in Legislation Requiring BSN within 10 Years of Graduating Assignment
The Bill in Legislation Requiring BSN within 10 Years of Graduating - Assignment Example Majority of New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA) members have voted to support this legislation at the March 31, 2006 meeting. In 1999, Harris Poll conducted a nationwide survey wherein the results indicated that 76 percent of the public think that nurses should have at least four years of undergraduate education for sufficient preparation. In 1978, the American Nurses Association (ANA) House of Delegates recommended that by 1985, the preparation for entry into professional practice would be a baccalaureate degree. This was seconded by their 1965 position paper that was inspired by the Comprehensive Nurse Training Act in 1964. This motivated reviews on nursing responsibilities, practice, and education. There are many reasons why different groups are pushing for the educational advancement of registered nurses. One major purpose is to promote professional behaviors. It is believed that this may promote a higher level of understanding the complexity of healthcare resources signi ficant in caring for patients. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, a study conducted by Linda Aiken and her colleagues concluded, ââ¬Å"In hospitals with higher proportions of nurses educated at the baccalaureate level or higher, surgical patients experienced lower mortality and failure-to-rescue rateâ⬠(2003). ... Sufficient academic preparation helps nurses to be equitable with other fields in healthcare. In addition, proper education boosts evidence based practice which is handier in the nursing profession. This significance will then give way to professional collaboration. Schools will have more opportunities to partner with relevant industries. As a result, this bill will increase the qualification of faculty members. Those with bachelorââ¬â¢s degrees are expected to advance their schooling by pursuing masterââ¬â¢s programs. As the requirement for students become more compelling, faculty standards have to be cultivated. These educational changes, ultimately seek for the enhancement of the nursing practice. This approach maintains its respect for all educational entries while addressing the evolving competencies required. For those with associate degrees, they may continue practicing while furthering their nursing education. For instance, a registered nurse with an associate degree ma y continue to work while finishing his bachelorââ¬â¢s degree. Currently, there are more schools working with other institutions to deliver innovative and flexible means. Hospitals and other kinds of healthcare facilities can also advance themselves with the promulgation of this bill. With more staff having distinguished education, an institution makes its chances higher to be accredited by the Magnet Recognition Program which is being supervised by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Health care facilities that receive this recognition pride themselves with outstanding patient care and nursing services. Sponsors The bill is being sponsored by Senator Stavisky and Assembly Member Morelle. These two legislators share common ground regarding their experience and emphasis on

Primary Sources Essay Example for Free
Primary Sources Essay Primary sources are the original documents that serve as a springboard for other theorists, scientists, authors, and scholars to write additional works that are added to the subjectââ¬â¢s base of literature. Primary sources are the first indications of a particular idea or a landmark study. They serve as a scientific starting point. Secondary sources are based on extrapolations of the original version with new additions and the interpretation of the past. For the most comprehensive literature review, both types of sources should be included in the research for a particular topic. The most powerful advantage to the use of primary sources is the assurance that these documents have not been marred or misrepresented through inaccurate interpretations or external motivations. The complexity of history makes it clear that a number of motives could influence the portrayal of original sources. When citing the works of others use only part of the source and rarely include the full context of the document. Details, the writing style, and purpose intended by the original author are important components available to researchers who choose to include primary sources in their bibliographies. The most practical advantage of secondary sources is their increased availability. Primary sources often originated decades or centuries ago. Much of the context that influenced those pieces is drastically different now and a modern interpretation might be the only way to apply the original findings to todayââ¬â¢s world. The addition of strong secondary sources can strengthen the scope of a literature review. Lastly, most students have the most experience with secondary sources. This supposition was supported by the findings in a recent study by Oldenburg (2005). While psychology professors preferred to use primary sources, they usually reserved the assignments of these readings to smaller, more advanced classes. With the progression in their education, students gain more exposure to original sources. Most will identify the need to incorporate both primary and secondary sources into their research.

Digital Camera :: Business Management Studies Assignment
Digital Camera Product: The product which I am planning to do is a digital camera that contains other useful features which would be ideal for the consumers. These features can range from games, music downloads, radio, Bluetooth and email access (depending on what consumers prefer better). Promotion: When promoting my product I will advertise on the television which may expand to international channels depending on how well my product will do in the market. Also have a demo of my product at exhibitions that take place for consumers to see, feel and touch the product rather than just a picture on the magazines. To aalso attract more consumers to my product; they will receive an attached printer for half price. Price: Digital cameras are ranged from à £700 to à £90 relying on the quality of it. I will have 2 take out my market research to see what price would be a reasonable price for the camera. All industries are influenced by SLEPT factors. For example, some of the SLEPT factors affecting the airline industry in recent years include: Social: increased popularity of foreign travel leading to a boom in demand for air travel. However, this has been adversely affected by international terrorism. Legal: there are increasingly tight rules about the materials that need to go into aircraft construction in order to make them safer and more resistant to fire hazards. This has had the impact of raising costs. Economic: lower interest rates have meant that people have more disposable income to spend on luxuries like long distance air travel. Political: the development of freedom of movement and trade in the European Union has led to greater levels of competition on European routes coupled with increased movement of people. Technological: modern aircraft are safer and more economic to run than in the past making possible cheap air travel. Before creating business plans or when evaluating existing ones it is important to 'scan' the external environment. This takes the form of a SLEPT analysis, i.e. an investigation of the Social, Legal, Economic, Political, and Technological influences on a business. In addition it is also important to be aware of the actions of your competitors. These forces are continually in a state of change. Social factors relate to pattern of behaviour, tastes, and lifestyles. A major component of this is a change in consumer behaviour resulting from changes in fashions and styles. The age structure of the population also alters over time (currently we have an ageing population). An understanding of social change gives business a better feel for the future market situation. Laws are continually being updated in a wide range of areas, e.g. consumer protection legislation, environmental legislation, health &

Mahsa
But, it is not a problem at all from the view of human rights. The author claims that homosexual marriage is neither culturally nor physiologically possible and it is a dead-end street without the cooperation of a third party due to extinction of generation. He satirized that gay marriage is not programmed properly and there are hardware problems as well in cyber language. He explores the question of whether homosexuality is an immutable characteristic because there is no evidence for the claim that homosexuality Is genetic, hormonal or biological from any school of medicine, medical Journal or professional organization. He comments that homosexuals are the richest, most educated and most traveled demographic group although they are few in number. He believes that homosexuality is a behavior-based life-style and presents the 1986 Supreme Court decision of Bowers vs.. Hardwire case for claim that gay marriage is state's public school curriculum and homosexual marriage should be taught to their children as ââ¬Å"abnormally'. To reinforce his views, he insists that churches may resist homosexual weddings and it may be used as a basis for denying them access to all kinds of government programs. And, Catholic churches were singled out by the city and denied aid for providing emergency shelter to the city homeless for resistance against homosexual ââ¬Å"rightsâ⬠ordinances. Sheldon asserts that ââ¬Å"homosexual marriageâ⬠is an oxymoron, unnatural and against our country most basic standards. Finally, he reports that every reputable public opinion poll demonstrates that nearly 8 of every 10 Americans don't accept the pretence of ââ¬Å"homosexual marriage. â⬠Although homosexual marriage is not generational, his claim is narrow view about marriage. The meaning of marriage is not limited on only preserving our species.Everyone has a right to pursue one's happiness through living with a person whom one loved. Also, all mankind has the right to pursue on e's civil liberties. The only action that should be banned from doing is the action that causes harm on someone else, but homosexual marriage does not cause harm in many cases. We need to consider that we could not predicate homosexual to be behavior-based life-style Just because there is no recognition from any school of medicine, medical journal or professional organization that homosexuality is genetic, hormonal or biological.A questionable aspect of this article is that homosexuals are the richest, cost educated and most traveled demographic group. The author should provide evidence to support his views. Another questionable aspect of this article is that homosexuality is not a constitutionally protected right. Homosexuals are the citizens of the United States who phototypesetting's a citizen. They've taxes, obey laws, vote and educate themselves, etc. So, their right should be guaranteed discriminated. According to the article 2 of Universal Declaration of Human Rights, everyon e is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration. This indicates that being homosexual should not effect on possessing the right of marriage and having family. His claim has no bases why homosexuality should be taught to children as the ââ¬Å"abnormally' and why churches stopped supporting for providing emergency shelter to city homeless. He looks like worrying that admitting same sex marriage will make homosexuality as kind of a trend and will be spread over people. And, it is questionable why churches used homeless people as sacrifices to against homosexuality. I could not find any relationship between homosexuals and homeless people. In a final shortcoming in the article, the author claims that ââ¬Ëhomosexual marriage' is against our country most basic standard. He should explain in detail what standards are and how ââ¬Ëhomosexual marriage' is against those. Despite these criticism, the author's claim should not be criticized as a witch hunting. Peo ple against homosexuality and people supportive homosexuality Just have different opinions. In my view, more systematic and comprehensive research of this issue is needed including the countries which legalized same-sex marriage before any firm conclusion can be drawn.

Suyuan and June Suyuan and June are the first mother daughter story we see (although the crust of it was explained near the end of the movie). Suyuan was a mother of 2 children that she was forced to abandon after war strikes her village. She then went to American and had another daughter: June. She raised June off of hope, not going too hard on her but still wanting to be a successful mother whilst raising a successful daughter. Suyuan feared letting June down knowing that she had let 2 others down in the past. Suyuan later passes, she never got to know the fate of the 2 daughter she left in china. After her death, June travels to china to meet her 2 long lost sisters. Ying Ying and Lena The the third pair are Ying Ying and Lena. As a teenager, Ying Ying found love with a man she loved. They got married and for a while she thought everything was ok, but the man was corrupt. After getting Ying Ying pregnant, the man became unfaithful. He left her multiple days, then returned with another woman. He then proceeded to take her child and then kick her out. Ying Ying left with her baby, and while washing the baby, she was lost in thought and drowned her baby to make him mad. She was emotionally distraught. She then travelled to America, having her second child and first daughter: Lena. Lena had gotten herself into a problematic marriage, her husband was a cheapskate, he only cared about his financial gain and not her. Her mother having experience with problematic men, she told her some good advice. If he doesnt make you happy, you find something that makes you happy. She left him and found someone who was worth her time. An Mei and Rose As a child An Mei mother was disowned by her family, making it so that she wouldnt see her for a large chunk of her life. When her grandmother is on her deathbed, her mother shows up and proves her Worth to her family. The family is grateful but they still want her gone. When Rose grows up, she meets a man with a somewhat racist family but he loves her dearly. Rose feels as if she must walk on eggshells to please her husband . Her husband grows tired of her, and Rose finds a new husband. Lindo and Waverly The most interesting mother and daughter pair are Lindo and Waverly. Lindo was given away to an arranged marriage by her mother at young age. Her mother loved her dearly but she had no choice. Lindo hated living life as a wife, everyone around her, including her husband were disrespectful towards her. Using her wits, she thought of a cunning lie to convince the people in her house to let her go for she wasnt the who was supposed to be getting married. After her escape, she makes her way to america where her daughter Waverly is born. Waverly growing up was pushed by her mother to do great, just so that her mother could show her off to everyone. Waverly grew tired of her moms ways and even became embarrassed. Lindo then let Waverly know that a daughter who doesnt care for her mother, doesnt deserve care from her mother. That would be proven as a very important lesson to Waverly, even as she grows up. Ever since her mother put the fear of disappointment in her mind, Waverly feared letting her mother down when she made future decisions as an adult. Waverly had met a man who she loved dearly, but was afraid that her mother wouldnt approve. He did things that werent normal in a Chinese Society, some of them might have made her mother upset. After an emotional conversation at a hair salon, Lindo and Waverly both came to the conclusion that although they may seem pushy or strict with each other, at the end of the day they still love each other dearly. their relationship throughout the movie is more a realistic interpretation of Chinese parenting Style: Pushing your child not because you feel like being mean, but because you love them and want the best for them. Waverly was no stranger to American Life, having live there her whole life and married a white man, But she also hangs on to her strict way of life that she learned from her mom. This is evident when she sees her husband doing abnormal things during dinner, and although she doesnt say anything, she has learned what is right and what is wrong from her Chinese mother. Two examples of Chinese Traditional beliefs are the idea of: not being ashamed of your parents and do your best no matter how you feel.

The leader not only making decision, also monitor the progress of the follower and giving supervise to them. The advantage of this leadership are minimize the chance of mistake or accident happen and increase efficiency. Transformational Leadership This leadership are create a noble vision to work towards that inspires the followers, the leader are authentic in their interactions within the team to inspires and encourage the follow take action. Also the leader are focus on the professional of the team and each followerà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢s personal development to get better result, and the leader are encourage the team members use their imagination and talent to enhance team standard. Paternalistic leadership This kind of leadership the relationship between leader and the follower are mostly like the father taking care of his children. The follow ar e fully trust their leader, the relationship between this two are very strong. But follower under this leadership they canà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t complete task independently and they are over reliant on their leader to make the decision. Personally, my favor is Autocratic Leadership. I prefer the theory of the leader doing all the decision making and monitor all the others members. Because Ià ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢m more focus on the efficiency and avoid mistake happen. Also in my opinion the follower have to accurately follow the leaderà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢s decision to make sure the stability of the team and to perform a great team work. b) I donà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t prefer transformation leadership, because this leadership require the leader have to spent exact time to inspire the team members and giving space to let the team members have creative that may cause conflict within the team. For the paternalistic leadership, the leader are spent too much time on taking care the team member s, even cause them canà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t work independently. That is seriously affected the work efficiency of the team. 4) Values Making a difference: I would like to make different with my life or doing work, some small change make help me reduce stress. Also, I had chance to work in many 5 star hotel in Singapore to learn how to deal with different kind of peoples, to give me a well social skill. It saves time and make my work more easy and tidy Learn from mistake: the best teacher is myself, I learn new things from every mistake I made. 8) I have compared me and the two leaders with the value, belief, attitudes, metaprograms. Traits, skills, and strategies to analysis the thing I have to learn from them and improve myself to achieve a good leadership on me. From the value I think I have learn from Gandhi with love but never hate, it is most difficult value from him and most precious point on him, he forgive everyone who try to harm him and reach a level normal people canà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t reach. i also have some common point between this two leaders, such as live in present and be kind. For the beliefs, me and this two leaders are both belief all the religious are equal and non-violent. But I think I still can learn the spiritual value in suffering, it bring them closer to Christ. I donà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t have much experience been suffer with lack of food or physical pain. I living in a material well-being life, I canà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢t really go into their world and I think that is what I lack to be a g ood leader. This two leaders are both have the self-sacrifice attitudes, they sacrifice and spent most of their life to helping other people for not benefit, in my opinion people can do that is a true leader, and me and this two leaders are all optimistic with any situation and problem, we had strong belief to help us solve the problem. The metaprograms between me and the two leaders are mostly same but I feel I have to enhance my thinking about others but not only myself. On their traits I also have some common point which same with them, such as Independent of thought and Remorseless with the task for self, but what I lack of is an attic faith, I always easily give up because many material temptation. For the personal skills we had common point such as being a good listener and always be smile. But it is really hard to forgive for me, that what I feel Ià ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢m lack of. For the strategies, I do have align with them like learn from mistake. And I feel cont inuous learning and improvement the most thing I need now, Ià ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã¢â ¢m still young and not enough knowledge and experience. Learning is the very important part for me to become a good leader. 9) I came from China, my culture background are traditional Chinese culture which are emphasize on etiquette and connotation culture. The first thing we have learn is modest and modestly decline. It is difference with the culture of those two leaders. Mother Teresa was born in Skopje, Macedonia and she affect a lot by Indian culture since she spent most of her life in Indian. Also she is a devout Catholic, she believe God will provide everything for her to help those poor, her faith give her very strong will and confidence to made todays Mother Teresa. Mohandas Gandhi was born in India but receive British education, he had very strong great man leadership, and his idea are far sighted. Those all are the factor of he become a great leader. For this two leaders, they had some commo n point. They both are think all the religious, color and level of people are equal and both of them spent their life to help peoples. Another common point is both of them are having a very strong leadership, people gathering, and identity and support them.
